Breanna Wilson: Egg Coffee and Espresso Martinis: 8 Easy-to-Make Espresso and Coffee Drink Recipes

 

Coffee drinks. We love them. Whether you add condensed milk and egg or just a good old-fashioned coffee liqueur drink concoction, we’re here for it.

And these eight easy-to-make coffee drink recipes are some of our favorites. What are you waiting for? Brew one up at home and tag us when you do. We want to see how you turn your favorite Nanopresso espresso shot or Cuppamoka pour-over into a coffee drink for the books.

ESPRESSO AND COFFEE DRINKS

Egg Coffee

A fan favorite, this Vietnamese classic is the original dalgona coffee trend. Only much, much better (obviously) thanks to using real espresso instead of instant coffee powder (gross, we know). 

Ingredient List:

2 shots espresso extracted with your Nanopresso

2 egg yolks

2 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk

How to Make:

Brew two shots of espresso using your Nanopresso in a mug.

Once your shots are made, in a small bowl, whisk the egg yolks and sweetened condensed milk with a beater until the mixture thickens and lightens in color and appears more foam-like (this will take a few minutes). You’ll notice the color go from egg yolk yellow to a lightener cream color as the mixture aerates. This is what you want.

Using a spatula, gently pour your egg foam as a top layer to your espresso shots. Voila, egg coffee is served.

Café Bombon

Often enjoyed as a dessert, a Café Bombon is a sweet treat worth pouring up any time of day (if you ask us). This traditional Spanish treat can be mixed either way (espresso layered on top of the warmed condensed milk, or vice versa as we instruct below) and it may take a few attempts to perfect this work of art in a glass.

Ingredient List:

2 shots espresso extracted with your Nanopresso

1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk

How to Make:

Extract 2 shots of espresso using your Nanopresso into a small glass mug. Warm the sweetened condensed milk on the stove or in a microwave until bubbling around the edges. Gently pour over the espresso to create a layered effect and serve.

Vietnamese Iced Coffee

On a hot day, we dare you to come up with a more satisfying drink. We’ll wait.

Ingredient List:

1 cup Pipamoka hot-brewed coffee brewed with Café Du Monde Coffee with Chicory dark roasted coffee

1/4 cup sweetened condensed milk

How to Make:

Brew one cup of hot coffee using your Pipamoka and your Café Du Monde Coffee with Chicory dark roasted coffee grounds. Add the sweetened condensed milk straight from the can. Stir to dissolve condensed milk, top with ice, and serve with a metal or paper straw.

Crack Hot Chocolate

Four servings of this Crack Hot Chocolate might sound like a lot, but just wait until you take your first sip. You’ll probably even find yourself doubling the recipe at some point.

Ingredient List:

2 shots espresso extracted with your Nanopresso

3 cups whole milk

2 cinnamon sticks

8 ounces semisweet chocolate, finely chopped

3 tablespoons granulated sugar

Pinch of kosher salt

Whipped cream and chocolate-covered espresso beans

How to Make:

Pour the milk into a medium saucepan, add cinnamon sticks, and bring to a simmer over medium-low heat. Whisk occasionally to prevent from boiling. Do this for approximately 10 minutes. Once simmering, slowly whisk in chocolate, sugar, and salt. Cook for 5 minutes or until chocolate is melted and consistency is smooth and creamy. Remove cinnamon sticks and add espresso to the mixture. Stir to combine. 

Pour into four mugs and top with whipped cream and espresso beans. Serve immediately.

COFFEE LIQUEUR DRINKS

Easy Espresso Martini

This classic espresso martini is easy to make and even easier to drink. And while you probably won’t be making this drink on a hiking trip, it is a drink worthy of a fire, blankets, good company, and long conversations under the stars. So, there’s that.

Ingredient List:

2 ounces vodka

1/2 ounce Kahlua or other coffee liqueur

1 shot espresso extracted with your Nanopresso

Chilled martini or coupe glasses and coffee beans to garnish

How to Make:

Fill a shaker with ice cubes. Add all ingredients. Shake for 30 – 60 seconds until you have a nice foam. Strain into a chilled martini or coupe glass. Garnish with coffee beans.

Classic Pour-Over Irish Coffee

What’s not to love about a classic Irish coffee? Using your Cuppamoka pour-over coffee maker, this recipe is even more delicious than before – and definitely better than what you’d find in any pub around the world.

Ingredient List:

3/4 cup Cuppamoka pour-over coffee

1/4 cup Irish whiskey

1 sugar cube

Milk to taste

Whipped cream

How to Make:

Drop sugar cube into the bottom of a tall glass mug. Pour in freshly brewed Cuppamoka pour-over coffee. Add Irish whiskey, milk, and stir. Top with whipped cream.

Chocolate Caramel Rum Rum Coffee

Decadent and delicious, this isn’t exactly a low-calorie coffee drink. But it is one that will leave a lasting impression. And after a long day of hiking or exploring, a just a long week at the office or on the road, sometimes that’s exactly what’s needed.

Ingredient List:

Two 12 oz cans evaporated milk

3/4 cup dark rum

1/2 cup chocolate syrup

1/3 cup dulce de leche

1/4 cup packed brown sugar

4 cups hot brewed coffee using your Pipamoka

2 tablespoons Kahlua or other coffee liqueur

Optional – Coffee Whipped Cream:

1 cup heavy whipping cream

6 tablespoons powdered sugar

2 tablespoons Kahlua or other coffee liqueur

Chocolate covered espresso beans

How to Make:

Combine milk, dark rum, chocolate syrup, dulce de leche, and brown sugar in a large saucepan. Cook over medium heat until hot. Be careful not to let the mixture boil. Stir in coffee and Kahlua.

To make the coffee whipped cream, place the heavy whipping cream in a small bowl and beat until it begins to thicken. Add in the powdered sugar and beat until stiff peaks form. Fold in the Kahlua (you just fold it in, David!) until combined.

Pour the chocolate caramel rum coffee into mugs and place a dollop of coffee whipped cream on top. Garnish with chocolate covered espresso beans.

Stout Iced Coffee

Boozy and beautiful, fans of stout beer will enjoy this morning-acceptable beer and coffee drink.

Ingredient List:

1/4 cup Pipamoka cold-brewed coffee

1/4 cup Guinness or other stout beer

1 shot Irish whiskey

Splash simple syrup to taste

1 teaspoon heavy cream

Ground nutmeg

How to Make:

Add Pipamoka cold-brewed coffee, Guinness, Irish whiskey, and simple syrup in a glass filled with ice. Gently pour in cream so it sinks into coffee. Sprinkle nutmeg over the top of the drink.
